“How to Lose 10 Pounds in a Week – The Ultimate 7 Day Weight Loss Kick Start” is a boldly titled ebook that has been gaining popularity online, likely precisely because of that striking title. That is, after all, a strong claim and it is one that most dieters would love to be able to make into reality. Written by Jenny Allan, this ebook is marketed specifically toward people who are becoming impatient with the rate at which they are losing weight. It is meant for people who don’t want to have to wait to lose any more weight, particularly if they aren’t all that successful at doing it in the first place.
Its description claims that this book will teach dieters how to “kick-start” their strategy to lose weight so that they will “drop massive amounts of weight in the first few days” and then will continue to reduce those pounds throughout the time that follows. It goes on to make claims that say that it has discovered techniques that experts would claim are impossible, and makes other very large claims that are very typical within this industry but that rarely ever pan out.
The “How to Lose 10 Pounds in a Week” description states that a dieter will learn about safe and unhealthy forms of fasting, calorie calculation, how to beat cravings, the best fat burning exercises, overcoming bloating, moving past emotional eating, motivation maintenance, sleeping and breathing for improved weight loss, and understanding potential medical conditions that could be increasing the struggle with weight loss.
Unfortunately, after reading all of this hype and the grand promises, the customer reviews don’t look quite as promising. In fact, when viewing its rating on Amazon, it has approximately as many 1 star reviews as it has 5 star reviews. When looking at all of the scores from the 114 reviews that existed at the time of the writing of this review, there are as many people who were dissatisfied with the book as there were people who thought that it was alright.
The comment that was rated the most helpful – that is, that was given a thumbs up by the largest number of shoppers – was one that pointed out that the information that is provided within “How to Lose 10 Pounds in a Week” is extremely basic. The feedback said that any of the information that was within the pages could easily be found on virtually any weight loss article hunted down on Google, and that its message was essentially to eat less and exercise more – which has been the basic format of virtually every diet since the beginning of dieting.
