At the time that this review was written, a single serving size (1 veggie capsule) of Health Plus Prime Forskolin Extract contained 250 mg of Forskolin (Coleus Forskholii Root Extract)(with standardized 20% forskolin). This was the only active ingredient in this dietary supplement.
Users are instructed to take 1 capsule twice daily. For optimal results, take the pills 20 – 30 minutes prior to a meal with an 8 ounce glass of water or as directed by your medical professional. The recommended dose should not be exceeded.
It is recommended that you first speak with your healthcare provider before making Health Plus Prime Forskolin Extract a regular part of your diet and your weight loss regimen. This is especially important if you are pregnant, are a nursing mother, currently have a medical condition or are taking any medications. Health Plus Prime Forskolin Extract is meant for healthy adults 18 years of age or older.
As for its effectiveness, Forskolin, also commonly known as Coleus Forskolii, is a chemical found in the roots of a plant called Plectranthus barbatus (Coleus froskohlii). Since ancient times it has been used to treat ailments, such as cardiovascular disorders like high blood pressure, chest pain and respiratory disorders.
It is believed to work in the walls of blood vessels and on muscles in the heart. It can produce a heartbeat with greater power and widen blood vessels, which can help to reduce blood pressure.
In terms of weight loss, this herb may affect muscle/fat ratios in the body, regulate lipid levels and promote healthy hormonal levels. Some preliminary research has also found that it may lower fatigue and appetite. In another study involving men, the herb appeared to help lower fat and build lean muscle mass.
That being said, in spite of some positive research, there still isn’t any real solid evidence that shows forskolin to be overly advantageous to individuals seeking weight loss. While it may benefit health in other ways, overall its strength does not appear to be in assisting with weight management.
